Proximity Biscuit (aka Roasted 20) is the classic dry biscuit malt — toasted cracker, nutty bread crust. It’s the one that gives English ales, browns, porters, and malt-forward beers that bready...biscuit depth.

A little goes a long way — 5–15% of the grist is usually plenty. It brings clean toast and cracker notes that play beautifully with hops. As always, please let us know if you are brewing exclusively with Biscuit malt, after all you could, it's just not recommended.

Why we love it:

  • "I'm not screwin around anymore I want serious malt character."
  • Boosts malt character significantly, helps balance bitter beers

Now wait a minute here, this malt has the same color specs as Root Shoot Honey Malt! Which one should I choose? Choose based off their flavor descriptors - they are different - do I want these notes in the beer? Biscuit is gently roasted in dry conditions, whereas honey is gently roasted in wet conditions. Using both is fine too.
