3.5°LProximity Pale is their highest-kilned base malt. Still provides a clean and neutral grain frame, but with a touch of more color and more firm malt - or more rounded - malt character than Pilsen or Base. Milled the day we ship it.
The only difference between Proximity’s base malts are the kilning extent:
- Pilsen: 1.4–2.2 SRM
- Base (2-row): 1.7–2.5 SRM
- Pale: 2.8–4.3 SRM
Why we love it:
- "I want a base malt with oooommph!"
- No guessing grain terroir, unlike small maltsters
- ...but still know exactly where it came from
- Excellent extract efficiency (more gravity, less grain)

The Proximity ReGenMalt line sources from specific farms following soil regenerative agricultural practices, including no-till and livestock incorporation techniques.
