2.0°LOrganic Malted Wheat brings soft, slightly sweet grain character with a clean, bright finish. It’s the malt that gives hefeweizens that classic fluffy head and silky mouthfeel, while also brightening up pale ales, wits, and cream ales with a little extra body and subtle sweetness.
Most brewers use it at 30–50% of the grist in wheat beers, or 5–15% in other styles when they want a softer, rounder malt character without adding color.
Why organic? Conventional wheat is often subjugated to an agricultural practice called pre-harvest desiccation, where glyphosate is sprayed on fully grown plants (and the wheat kernals) to quickly kill and dry it, accelerating time to harvest. The kernals will absorb the glyphosate. Organic farming removes this health risk so we can focus on the consequences of alcohol consumption.
