Omega Yeast - OYL-090 - Espe Kveik
Espe Kveik comes from Grodås, Norway and shows up with a fruit basket. Lychee, pear, and straight tropical fruit cup esters get loudest when you ferment it warm (90°F+), but it still delivers solid character at regular ale temperatures.
This strain is new-school Kveik. Forgiving with high fermentation temperatures (actually hot is encouraged) to produce esters that complement hoppy-fruit-forward beers. Sure this strain came from a Norwegian village - the point is to distinguish that this is not considered farmhousey, funky, or phenolic.
Best For IPAs, Pale Ales, and any beer where you want bright tropical fruit esters without traditional Belgian phenols.
