Calcium Carbonate (Chalk)

Is your brewing water suffering from acid indigestion? Give it some chalk.

Seriously, calcium carbonate is used to raise mash pH and add calcium to brewing water. Helps balance acidity in dark beers or very soft water profiles, supporting better enzyme activity and reducing harshness. Adds calcium without adding sulfate (unlike gypsum).

Dissolves slowly. Add to your strike or sparge water based on your water report and recipe needs. A little goes a long way.
